Vicente · Original interview in Spanish
Leaving Santiago to try a different routine
Vicente wanted to experience another way of living. Over time, he combined study and work with activities he enjoyed. At the interview date, he was taking an environment-related diploma and preparing documents relating to recognition of his engineering education. These were steps and plans still in progress.
Learning beyond his original profession
Before starting a business activity, he worked in kitchens, waiting tables, factories and gardening. He values people who taught him unfamiliar tasks. Later, he worked on roofs and partnered with a Chilean friend. The activity described included maintenance, cleaning, leak repairs and gutters.
Professional recognition was a process, not a confirmed result
The video records Vicente gathering documents and considering professional pathways. It does not confirm completed recognition, professional registration or a later visa. For a graduate, the useful question is how further study connects with existing education and which separate checks are needed to practise the profession.
Life outside work
Vicente shared a house with friends from Chile and Argentina, which he said helped manage spending. Surfing, piano, carpentry and repairing things were part of his free time. His enthusiasm came from that combination of routine, learning and personal interests.
